Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari

For customers in the U.K., the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari has now received a price tag of £29,600 (€35,500) for a right-hand drive model of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. This model is an improvement on the Abarth 500, itself an improvement on the Fiat 500C, the 695 Tributo will be limited to 152 units.

The car generates 180 bhp from a 1368 cc turbocharged engine.  While delivering combined fuel economy of 43.3 mpg (UK), the 695 still manages to reach 100 km/h in seven seconds.  The car’s top speed is 140 mph.

Abarth says they wanted to create a vehicle “with stunning performance matched to perfect day-to-day usability.”  Its performance is highlighted by a Scuderia Red paint job, grey racing stripes outlined in black, Corsa Grey 17-inch alloy wheels, and matching grille.  It also has carbon fiber wing mirrors.

Special orders will soon be accepted at the 17 Abarth dealerships in the UK.

You can find the Press Release after the break..

The Fiat 500 model might get a roofless edition too! AutoExpress’ exclusive spy shots reveal the new 500 Convertible undergoing testing in Germany. Apart from some fabric and tape on roof, little effort has been made to actually disguise the car.

The 500 will get a more traditional canvas roof, with positive effects on thefuel economy and emissions by saving weight.

Buyers will be able to choose from a variety of colours for the soft-top. Aiming straight at the MINI convertible, one will also find some rear seats in the 500 cabrio.

The 500 Cabrio will be available with the same engine range as the hatchback when it arrives in summer 2009. You can expect the 69bhp 1.2 and 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol engines, as well as a 75bhp 1.3-litre diesel unit.

Fiat Bugster steals the show

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

This is the Fiat Bugster concept, which is due to make its debut at Brazil’s Sao Paulo Motor Show next month.  The Bugster runs on electric power and all unnecessary parts – such as doors and a roof – are binned to keep weight down. All the bodywork that remains is constructed from renewable, natural fibres.

The Bugster was designed by Fiat Automotive’s Brazilian engineering division as “a starting point for the adoption of new solutions for mobility”. With its electric engine the Bugster is about as eco-friendly as concepts get. An ultra-efficient 500 city car may well use the technology showcased in the Bugster in future.
