A new high definition video featuring the Lamborghini Aventador is making rounds on the internets today. The three-minute video shows the supercar’s evolution from sketchpad-to-reality, with many steps along the way.
Some of the scenes in the video include shots of the car at CAD stage and then becoming a model, as well as the fabrication and testing of body panels, the engine, and the interior. It closes out with a few shots of the finished product pulling out of Lamborghini’s Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy, headquarters, and heading down the road.
The Limited Edition Lamborghini Murciélago LP650-4 Roadster comes along just in time for you fat cats to open up your wallets again. Lamborghini is hoping that the draw of the 650 horsepower from an uprated 6.5-liter V12,486 Lb-Ft of torque, 0-62 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205 mph will help to distract you from the god-awful Grigio Telesto (grey) and Arancio (orange) mixed exterior.
Significant identifying features of the 50-unit limited edition besides the paint are the LP 650-4 logo applied to the side of the front fascia and also on the retractable air intakes, a transparent engine cover and the lack of a roof. Hop inside and you’ll find an Alcantara wrapped interior featuring matching orange bits on the paddle shifters, e-gear selector plate and stitching throughout.
In November we reported that Lamborghini Orange County, formerly the world’s largest Lambo dealer, had suddenly closed its doors. While there were rumours, the actual reason for the closure is finally out thanks to released court documents from a lawsuit where Volkswagen accuses the dealership of stealing $12 million in just eight days.
Volkswagen claims the Keuylians, former owners of Lamborghini Orange County, committed “outright theft” by selling 54 exotic sports cars at deep discounts, suggestedly running off with the money and failing to pay their creditor. Volkswagen Credit financed the cars in advance of sale but didn’t get any of the money.
Either way, we’re surprised to see that this dealership was able to sell an incredible 7 cars per day over an 8 day period, without getting noticed.
Lamborghini is showing two new exclusive versions of the Murciélago LP 640 and Gallardo LP 560-4 at the Detroit Auto Show.
These special models are examples of the company’s Ad Personam individualization program that allows customers to have their car built to their particular specifications. Both supercars are highly customized models in a matt blue that is meant to make the cars look “elegant and refined, yet extremely powerful and dynamic.”
The only real limiting factor in the Ad Personam individualization program is the owner’s imagination and the size of their wallet, so options are pretty much endless.
While browsing YouTube for a bit, we found this cool video of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4. Not sure whether this was a commercial or a promotional video, but either way we couldn’t keep it from you. Take a look, you’ll like it.

The Lamborghini Estoque is said to share a platform with Audi A7.
More details are emerging on the Lamborghini Estoque four-door, set to debut in 2011 or 2012. Lamborghini insists the aggressive sedan is still only under consideration, but company insiders tell us Sant’Agata is already preparing the car for production. The only obstacle is a strategic review of the entire Volkswagen Group’s future vehicle portfolio, currently being carried out by Porsche, VW’s majority shareholder.
The Estoque will be built on Audi’s modular-longitudinal platform, which is the base of a number of new models, including the current Audi A4 and A5, the next-generation A6 and A8, the forthcoming all-new A7, and the 2013 VW Phaeton.
