In case you missed the Nissan GT-R SpecV at the Tokyo Auto Salon, take a look at promotional video of the car.
The GT-R SpecV is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6, producing 480hp. The GT-R SpecV is only available in the Ultimate Black Opal colour, because the majority of the car’s components are made of carbon fibre. The SpecV is also a two seater, as opposed to the standard GT-R four-seater.
Nissan has limited the production of the GT-R SpecV to only 20 to 30 each calendar month. It will be available in Japan’s showrooms next month, and is expected to come to Europe this year. Pricing are set at 15,750,000 yen (€127,000).
According to CarDomain Blog, the Japanese tuner Zele is working on a Gran Turismo Infinit G37 Coupe Concept. In Japan the car is known as the Nissan Skyline Coupe, and is based on the car as seen in the most recent Gran Turismo video game.
Please note that the picture is not a photo from the tuner but a press shot from the Gran Turismo 5 game.
It has become clear that, for the 2010 model year, the Nissan GT-R won’t come with the Launch Control feature. Inside Line is quoting a Nissan executive as saying “It’s gone. We just don’t want to deal with the warranty nightmare anymore. It’ll make the 2009 GT-R really special. It’ll be the only R35 with launch control.”
Apparently, transmission trouble resulting from disabling the car’s VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) too often, in order to use the Launch Control function, meant Nissan wasn’t covering the repairs as part of the warranties. The cost to fix/replace the transmission is $20,000, so you can imagine owners were upset. It’s good news that GT-R owners now don’t have to worry about voiding their warranties by using Launch Control!

After a waiting, rumours and spy photos, Nissan finally provided an official glimpse of the new 370Z. Unfortunately, the only images released were a few computer-generated stills.
You’ll be happy to know we can provide you with the first real live photos of the Nissan 370Z, captured at an undisclosed event ahead of its reveal at the LA Motor Show later this month.
The new head and taillight designs could be argued about, but the new 3.7-liter V6 – rumoured to produce around 330 hp – can’t be argued with.
The new Nissan Cube will not only be coming to the States starting in spring 2009, but it will also be unveiled in the US, namely at the Los Angeles Auto Show that runs November 21-30. In Japan’s Car Magazine the above artist-rendering of the new Cube was published and from what we can tell by comparing the photo to various spy shots, the computer generated image gives us an accurate picture of what the subcompact mini will look like.
The current iteration of the boxy-shaped Cube has been on sale in Japan since 2002. Power comes from a 1.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine delivering an output of 95 bhp, which is connected to either a four-speed automatic or an optional CVT. To get an idea of the Cube’s footprint, at 146.9 in. (3,731mm) in length, 63.4 in. (1,610 mm) in width and 64.0 in (1,626 mm) in height, the current model is about an inch longer, 9 inches taller and 3 inches narrower than a MINI Cooper.
Nissan has released a set of high-res pictures of the new 370Z ahead of the sports coupe’s world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 19 November. As anticipated, the Japanese automaker did not reveal any technical details on the 350Z’s successor, but it’s no secret that the new Z will share its more powerful 3.7-liter V6 engine that can be hooked up to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed automatic transmission with the latest generation Infiniti G37 Coupe and Sedan models.
The design team over at Nissan’s headquarters chose an evolutionary approach for the 370Z’s exterior styling but the sports coupe does appear to sit on a shorter wheelbase than the current 350Z. It also looks like it features a shorter rear overhang which results to a more aggressive stance that reminds us of the BMW Z4 Coupe, one of the Z’s main rivals.
This is the new Nissan 370Z coupe, as you can see it was caught driving around quite undistinguished. The redesign is clearly visible and looks a bit like a baby GT-R. The 370Z will be replacing the current 350Z. The new 3.7 V6 engine will produce more than 300 bhp, and it has been suggested Nissan has also worked on the weight issue of the current 350Z.
The 370Z is expected to be launched at next month’s Los Angeles motor show, but the GT-R-like side windows and roofline already suggest the new design of Nissan’s sports cars.
