Porsche 911 Sport Classic Special Edition at Frankfurt Motor Show

This week Porsche showed the limited edition 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic at the Frankfurt Motor Show.  The 408 horsepower supercar is based on the Carrera S, and comes with a 3.8-liter engine.

With the 23 horsepower increase over the Carrera S, it only takes 4.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h in the 911 SC and continues all the way to a 302 km/h (187 mph) top speed.  The carbon-ceramic brakes help you slow down quickly.

The limited edition model comes with blacked-out 19-inch custom Fuchs wheels, which ought to evoke a 1960s-era look.  Styling helps to convey this feeling, including the ducktail spoiler, and double-dome roof.

If you’re interested in one of the 250 editions of the Porsche 911 Sport Classic, your wallet will be at least €169,300 lighter, not including tax.

Video: New Bentley Mulsanne at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Bentley has revealed its all-new Mulsanne at the Frankfurt Motor Show. This luxury saloon is the company’s new flagship, powered by a turbocharged V8 that manages to produce an impressive 508 hp and 1020Nm of torque.
If you ask us, that is probably the only positive aspect of this car. Looking at the Mulsanne’s frontal design, especially the position of the lights is rather odd to say the least. And the colour… well, what shall we say about that? Watch the video, and see what you think..

Audi A5 Sportback at 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show

Audi A5 Sportback at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Audi A5 Sportback at the Frankfurt Motor Show

Although the U.S. market won’t be getting the Audi A5 Sportback, based on the reaction here on the floor in Frankfurt, Audi won’t have any problem moving them in Europe. It took us longer to get clear shots of the A5 than any other car at Audi (even the R8 Spyder), and when we returned at the end of the day there were still numerous fascinated Euro types examining the car like it was CSI evidence.

The A5 is so beautiful on its own we weren’t sure how the Sportback appellation might distort, but like the BMW 5 Series GT, it makes friends with the eyes in person — and in fact, it’s better. The S5 is the top of the heap model, and it will sport a supercharged, 3.0-liter V6 with 333 hp and 325 lb-ft. Just 5.4 seconds takes you to the 60, but whatever speed you travel, you shouldn’t be disappointed with how you look doing it. At least, if you’re not in the U.S…

This bespoke package allows buyers to choose a customizable three-tone interior. The model presented in Frankfurt has Imperial Blue primary and secondary hides, Linen seats, and Newmarket Tan accents. Other items include a matching truck mat, diamond quilted inserts, and a limited-edition Amboyna veneer.

On the exterior, Bentley equips the Series 51 Continental with 20″ 14-spoke ‘Diamond’ polished wheels and discrete ‘51′ badges on the front quarter panels. If that isn’t exclusive enough for you, the company also offers a special two-tone paint scheme to accompany the interior.

Alfa Romeo Mito Quadrifoglio at Frankfurt Motor Show

Alfa Romeo has taken the wraps off the new MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (four-leaf clover) at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

As a replacement for the defunct MiTo GTA, the Quadrifoglio Verde features an impressive 170hp 1.4-liter MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine. In combination with the new six-speed transmission, which has been specially designed to deliver quick changes and improved fuel efficiency, one can expect the MiTo to be more competitive with the most recent hot hatches.

While performance specifications weren’t released, Alfa says the Quadrifoglio Verde will only consume 4.8L/100km (49 mpg) while emitting 139 g/km of CO2 (in the extra-urban cycle).

The company has also added a ‘Dynamic Suspension’ with continuously variable shock absorbers. Alfa says the suspension “…allows the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde to excel even further in terms of agility and handling, giving it exceptional drivability and unparalleled safety.” With three different setting (Normal, All Weather, and Dynamic), owners can custom tailor the ride to fit their particular driving situation.

Video: BMW 5 Series GT Live in Frankfurt

BMW has used the Frankfurt Motor Show to officially introduce the highly controversial 5-Series Gran Turismo.

As the video proves, the car is definitely ‘not a looker’ but the GT does have some redeeming values. It offers the same rear legroom as the 7-Series, the same headroom as the X5, and up to 1,700 liters (59.5 cu ft) of luggage capacity.
Described as “a prestige saloon, a modern Sports Activity Vehicle crossed with a classic Gran Turismo”, the new Bimmer blends sedan styling with hatchback practicality.

At launch, three different engines will be offered. These are the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel with 245 hp, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six with 306 hp, and the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 407 hp. All models will come standard with BMW’s new eight-speed automatic transmission.
