Fisker has released a new promotional video for the Karma hybrid.
The beautiful hybrid sedan features two electric motors that produce 300 kW (402 bhp). They are powered by a 200kW lithium-ion battery pack, which allows the car to travel up to 80.5 km (50 miles) before a GM-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine takes over to recharge it.
The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately six seconds, hits a top speed of 201 km/h (125 mph) and as an estimated combined fuel consumption rating of 2L/100km (117.6 mpg US).
The Karma was originally scheduled to go on sale last year, but was delayed for unspecified reasons. It is now expected to launch in 2011.
For customers in the U.K., the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari has now received a price tag of £29,600 (€35,500) for a right-hand drive model of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. There are already some cars in America that offer in-car Wifi, and now Subaru can be added to that list. The Japanese automaker has put WiFi on the options list of the 2011 Subaru Outback for the fairly standard price of $499 as a dealer-installed option. You’ll receive an encrypted connection good within 150 feet of the car, and it can be used while the car is in motion. The subscription is $29 per month after that, and Subaru is gracious enough to even pick up the first three months for you. Follow the jump for the full press release.
Above you see one of the first images, likely to come from a French car magazine, of the upcoming Peugeot 309 - which will be the successor to the current 308.
Of course, being so early, we shouldn’t expect the final product to look like this, as the design development is still being overseen by Peugeot design chief Gilles Vidal.
What stands out on this 309 is the new face with its sleeker cat eye headlights and the tighter-looking mouth of the front grill.
The bonnet features deep grooves and the side doors too have some soft indentations to give the 309 a fleshier look.
The new 309 won’t be in dealer showrooms before 2013.
Citroën has released a teaser video of the Survolt concept, ahead of the car’s track debut at the Le Mans Classic on July 10th.
As seen at the unveiling of the car at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Survolt boasts sexy styling, a tubular chassis, and carbon fiber bodywork.
The power is provided by two electric motors, with a combined 300 bhp, which are powered by twin 31 kW lithium-ion batteries. The amazing fact is that this allows the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than five seconds and hit a top speed of 260 km/h (162 mph). When depleted, the batteries can be recharged in two hours (with a rapid charger) or ten hours (with a standard 220 volt outlet).
This new Volvo V60 has been launched as the sporty five-door version of the all-new S60. The car is being offered with eight different engines in an attempt to lure at least 50,000 new customers annually.
The V60 is available with four inline-four petrol engines, including two 1.6-liter units and two 2.0-liter models. Its range-leading inline-six is a 3.0-liter unit that produces 304 hp. This serious powerhouse gets the car from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and is limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
The V60 can also be chosen with a diesel engine, in which Volvo offers 3 choices. The offerings include a 115-hp 1.6-liter inline-four, and two inline-five workhorses.
“Many of the customers who had an advance look at the new V60 during the development process feel that its attitude is at least as sporty as that of the all-new S60,” said Volvo Design Director Peter Horbury.
To add a sportier look to the car, it has been given a coupe-inspired roof, sculpted styling at the front, and a bulging “shoulder” to keep with Volvo’s design language.
Collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, all-wheel drive, tight steering, stability control, traction control in the corners, and an advanced brake system are all included for the driver’s benefit. The price tag of the new Volvo V60 is to be announced soon.
