Spy Shots: BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

Excited by the new BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car? So are we. But while the rest of us have to wait another couple of weeks to see the future-think show car at the Bavarian automaker’s show stand in Frankfurt, one lucky enthusiast got an early glimpse while visiting the company’s flagship BMW Welt in Munich.

By the looks of it, he got a good view of the car, as Car and Driver’s photo gallery of the car contains pictures from every possible angle. Follow the link to see all pictures.

Video: 2011 Porsche Boxster Spied on Nurburgring

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

Spied on the ‘Ring, the Boxster is still showing off a cloth roof, and we get another look at the rear LED light clusters.  Beyond that, it looks evident that the front end is bulging and somewhat elongated, but not massively.  All around the car, it is more of the same: same spoiler, same third brake light, same sidesills, same vents, etc.  Instead, we expect there to be some solid differences to the mechanics, and possibly weight reductions, instead of a radical new design.  After all, the old design just came out.

Nonetheless, look for the 2011 Porsche Boxster to have a refined front and rear fascia as well as a new rear light cluster.  Something beyond mechanics will be needed to entice potential customers.  Hopefully, Porsche will finish with the mule, and begin testing the production prototype.  We’ll bring you any new shots as soon as they appear.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro is off to an impressive start in the U.S., with inventories sold out in spite of the general economic slowdown. The resurrected muscle car will get the opportunity to repeat this success overseas, as GM has confirmed that the Camaro will be sold in Europe. No on-sale dates or pricing have been released.

Auto Motor und Sport reports that Jurgen Keller, general manager at Chevrolet Germany, confirmed GM’s plans to export the Camaro to Europe. Sale dates will likely be forthcoming as production catches up.

There’s no word as to which of the Camaro’s three available engines will make the leap across the Atlantic. In the U.S., the Camaro is available with a 304-horsepower 3.6 liter V6 and a choice of 400 or 426-horsepower 6.2 liter V8s, depending on transmission choice. GM’s fuel-saving Active Fuel Management is available on the 400-horse V8. The Camaro also sports a four-wheel independent suspension and available stability control. The ride and handling are uniquely American, a fact that will be considered a good thing to some European buyers and a bad thing to others.

Possible styling changes to meet Euro regulations have also not been discussed.

U.S. pricing for the Camaro starts at $23,040 for the V6 and $35,425 for the V8-powered SS. That’s about €16,400 and €25,215, respectively. GM has not yet released German or any other European pricing information for an exported Camaro.

Audi RS3 spotted while testing in Germany

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

Caught testing close to the manufacturer’s headquarters in Ingolstadt, Germany, with virtually no camouflage, the prototype follows recent Audi form by being disguised as a racer.

However, the distinctive single windscreen wiper, quick-release bonnet pins and adjustable front spoiler won’t make it on to the production version. These racy additions are simply Audi’s attempt to give spy photographers the slip.

As our exclusive picture shows, the much anticipated newcomer will feature a wider track than the standard A3 and has enlarged wheelarches to accommodate the beefier alloys.

The car is being developed by Audi’s Sport division - the team responsible for the barnstorming S4 and RS4 - and is scheduled to make its debut in show-rooms late next year.

These are the clearest pictures yet, which show the second-generation CLS in motion. AutoExpress has managed to capture the forthcoming version of Mercedes’ CLS four-door coupe while testing.

Although most of the car is still hidden, the headlights, rear lights, side mirrors, tyres and roof are all visible, allowing us to begin to build a clearer picture of what the CLS will look like when it arrives.

Under the bonnet you can expect a wide range of engines, including a new BlueHybrid version and of course the range topping CLS63 AMG with a power output expected in excess of 500bhp.

Video: Next generation Porsche 911/998 spied

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

The new 2011 Porsche 911 Coupe and Cabriolet have been caught on video for the first time. This is the new generation of Porsche’s sports car, also referred to as the 998.

The new models’ improvements will include raised headlights and new side mirrors placed on the doors. Inside, there will be more room in the back, which requires the car to be stretched a bit. Power should come from direct-injection engines, possibly a 3.0-liter version will be standard. There will be a choice between upgrading to an all-wheel-drive version, or keeping the standard RWD.

Spy Shots Reveal BMW Prepping V12 Powered 760i

no comment Posted by onlydreamcars

Here we go, a black BMW 760Li spied in broad daylight. A very similar car (though with different plates) was spied a few weeks ago and hailed as the BMW M7. It wasn’t. Although BMW sources have admitted to the company being in the process of producing an M7 high-performance luxury sedan, this is not that car. What this happens to be is a 760Li, the long-wheel-base version of the 760i.

The pictured prototype features big black wheels, a longer wheelbase, four tailpipes shaped like flattened rectangles and what looks like the word “V12″ covered in tape on the front side of the car. Bits of the interior can be seen through the reflective glass but not much in specific detail can be observed.

At the moment BMW is only offering the new 7 Series up to 750i/ Li level where a 4.4-litre twin turbo V8 is used to produce 300kW (407hp). Traditionally the 760i/ Li have been the range toppers for the BMW brand with their V12 naturally aspirated engines. Although technical details are not available yet for obvious reasons, speculation is that the V12 configuration has been retained but with an added two turbos for power persuasion. The BMW 760i/ Li should break cover at the Shanghai Motor Show in a couple of months’ time.
