Ford has officially revealed the 2012 Mustang Boss 302 and Boss 302 Laguna Seca. The cars are inspired by the classic 1969 model.
Power is generated by a revised version of the Mustang GT’s 5.0 litre V8 powerhouse. It produces 440 bhp and 515 Nm of torque thanks to a new intake, a quad exhaust, and modified camshafts.
To ensure a nice sporty ride, Ford added higher-rate coil springs and stiffer suspension bushings. In addition, these models also get a speed-sensitive electronic steering system (with three modes: Comfort, normal and sport), defeatable traction control / electronic stability control systems, and adjustable shocks (with five manual settings) and struts.
Other cool performance stuff include a race-inspired clutch, a short-throw six-speed manual transmission, and a Brembo front braking system.

The stunningly powerful Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport may have set a new world speed record a couple of weeks ago at the VW Group’s Ehra-Lessein proving grounds in Germany, but (as it turns out) the supercar is still being tested on normal roads. Our colleaguesatDiariomotor came across an undisguised example of the Super Sport hanging out with two more “standard” Veyrons somewhere in Spain and made this amazing video.
This special edition Veyron Super Sport comes with four enlarged turbochargers and super-size intercoolers pushing the output of the 8.0-liter W16 engine to a mind-boggling 1200 bhp and 1500 Nm of peak torque.
Even though the Super Sport was clocked at 431.07 km/h (268 mph) in Germany, the production model’s top speed will be electronically limited to 415 km/h (258.1 mph) to protect the tires. The flagship Veyron model will go into production in a limited series this fall.
German tuning firm Novitec Tridente has released a new tuning package for the Maserati Quattroporte. Modifications to the eight-cylinder 4.7-liter engine boost power up to 590 bhp.
This means a jump of 160 bhp on the Quattroporte S to a total 590 bhp. On its own, the engine converstion costs a minimum €19,900. This engine tuning package is also available for the Quattroporte Sport GT S.
It translates to a staggering 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.6 seconds, and 14.9 seconds to 200 km/h (124 mph). Top speed on the car is 295 km/h (183 mph).
Customers can also order three-piece 21-inch wheels measuring 9J in front and 11J in back, with Pirelli P Zero tires. To add to the car’s sporty look, engineers also developed a new carbon fiber rear spoiler. A coil-over suspension is available with several settings and continuous height adjustment.
New interior elements can also be chosen as part of the tuning package, such as leather, Alcantara, and various entertainment equipment. Price tags of non-engine related modifications have not been revealed yet.
According to Porsche, the 500 bhp Porsche Cayenne Turbo gets from zero to sixty in 4.4 seconds. The 385 bhp 911 Carrera 4S with PDK takes 4.3 seconds to run the same distance. With such remarkably close acceleration times, Autocar wanted to see how the Cayenne Turbo would handle compared to the 911 around Millbrook’s 1.39-kilometer Outer Handling Circuit. The answer: An extraordinary performance. Check out the race to watch Steve Sutcliffe scorching the Porsches around the circuit.
It’s probably safe to say that most of us will never get to drive the Mercedes SLS AMG, yet 100 lucky contestants will get a chance to climb behind the wheel and take it for a spin.
As part of the SLS AMG Rare Experiences campaign, the company will setup a Gran Turismo 5 racing experience at Mercedes-Benz World in the UK. The people who post the 100 fastest laps times will get to “drive, drift and slide the SLS AMG around the Mercedes-Benz World track (after a training session with a professional driver).”
But it gets even better. as this GT5 event is part of the larger Rare Experiences campaign. This also offers an all-expenses paid tour of the AMG factory and a chance to drive the SLS AMG around the Top Gear test track. Clues will be released on the SLS’ Facebook and Twitter page, so check them out for additional information.

Switzer Performance has a new, pumped up version of the Porsche 911 GT2.
The details are very impressive, it gets dialed up significantly to 911 hp - a full 291hp more than the recently revealed GT2 RS. That number is not a coincidence either. After all, it is an iteration of the Porsche 911.
For the suspension the tuner adds “Switzer-specific titanium inverted-front-strut and a remote-reservoir suspension engineered by the track experts at JRZ.” The R911S will also feature “hand-selected spring and damping rates.”
A R911S Carbon edition will also be available with a set of carbon fiber parts that lighten the car and drop its center of gravity.
Switzer’s prices for the car are, most surprisingly, lower than Porsche’s own MSRP for the 620hp 911 GT2 RS. The Switzer GT2 R911S can be in your garage for $199,900 (€158,692), while the R911S Carbon comes in at $239,900 (€190,447).
Porsche’s new GT2 RS will sell for $245,000 (€193,000) in the U.S. market.
A French blog dedicated to Italian cars, Unica-Strada.com, has obtained a photo that may show the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GTA. If released, the rumored car could be sold as a limited edition version of the already very exlusive sports car, with stepped-up performance and aerodynamic modifications.
The 8C GTA is expected to get a 4.7-liter V8 engine that delivers 500 hp. Furthermore, the car could see a 150 kgweight reduction, as well as a new exhaust system. These changes could let the 8C GTA sprint from 0 to 60mph in under four seconds, and clear a top speed near 200 mph (322 km/h).
The 8C GTA is expected to be limited to just 100 units, all priced from €232,500.
Bentley has released a new video featuring the production process of the Bentley Mulsanne.
New customers will be able to choose from at least 115 different colors for their luxury car, though more are possible with the company’s “unlimited palette.” 28 of these were created exclusively for the Mulsanne. The car gets six different layers of paint, including three for the top coat, and two coats of lacquer. Satin finishes, and two-tone versions will be possible.
Naturally this is not the most exiting video, but we’re sure Bentley fans will enjoy it!
