“GeigerCars has given a significant power increase to the Mustang Shelby GT500. The car’s output was pumped up from 540 PS (397 kW / 533 bhp) to an impressive 810 PS (596 kW / 799 bhp).
Top speed on the car is now 354 km/h (220 mph). Sprint times were not revealed in the press release.
Torque on the 5.4-liter V8 engine was increased up to 945 Nm (697 lb-ft). The power improvements are in part due to a 3.3-liter compressor which puts out 1.6 bar pressure. Other performance enhancers include better air flow, new cylinder heads, more coolers, bigger throttle valves, and upgraded fuel injection.
The car’s transmission was modified to be able to take the extra power, and a three-disc carbon clutch was also used. Large 380 mm drilled brake discs were added, along with six-piston calipers.
Other changes made to the car included a new racing chassis. OZ alloys were added, measuring 8.5×20″ at the front and 10×20″ in back. Wheels are wrapped in high performance Michelin tires.
Pricing on the GeigerCars version of the Shelby GT500 Mustang has not been disclosed.”
Tuner HEICO SPORTIV has created a new tuning package for the facelift Volvo C30 1.6D DRIVe. The tuner claims a strong base is already in place from the stock car which has eco-friendly technologies like stop/start with a brake-energy recovery system and a fuel consumption of only 3.9 litres per 100km.
“This is our basic starting point for proving that ecologically friendly action and the pleasure of driving don’t need to be mutually exclusive,” said general manager Holger Hedtke. He continued, “In doing so, aerodynamically optimised components such as the radiator grille or under-floor intentionally remain untouched.”
Power and torque increase from 109 bhp and 240Nm to 125 bhp and 280Nm respectively. The 0 - 100km/h sprint time is set at 9.2 seconds. HEICO SPORTIV claims theirs is 2.1 seconds quicker than the factory car. It also has a 200km/h top speed.
The car features some additions by the tuner on both interior and exterior. On the inside of the car these include aluminium or leather-covered handbrake, door pin set and gear lever grip.
The car’s exterior features a HEICO SPORTIV front spoiler, sport rims in 18 and 19-inch size in three colours, and a stainless steel double and quad pipe exhaust system. Performance enhancers include a differential lock and a sports suspension lowered by 30mm.
The new performance package for the new Audi TT RS by German tuner MTM allows the consumer to choose from three different power stages. Under normal circumstances the car produces 340hp of power and peak torque of 450Nm. The factory claims a 0 - 100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds.
MTM has used the stock 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo as a basis. By adjusting the engine control unit and fitting a new exhaust system with new middle- and end- pipes with throttle valves, the car not only sounds great but also revs higher.
MTM offers three stages of power, though we must say the differences between the stages are very small. Stage 1 offers 404bhp and 550Nm while stage 2 gives out 408bhp and the same amount of torque. The highest stage offers maximum power of 424bhp and 560Nm, does 0 - 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and achieves a top speed of 297 km/h. The car is provided with MTM sport wheels with the original BIMOTO design measuring 19-inch or 20-inch.
Specter Werkes has announced they’ll be revealing their Corvette GTR at the SEMA Motor Show next week.
The tuned car is based on the Corvette Z06 and boasts a monstrous 800 bhp. The GTR is powered by a 7.0-litre twin-turbocharged LS7 V8 from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. While details are limited we know that some performance goodies include a StopTech STR braking system (with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers) and a Corsa exhaust with unique tips.
Specter Werkes has also paid attention to the styling of the supercar, the Corvette features an aggressive body kit, a matte black rear-end, and lightweight HRE CF40 carbon fiber wheels. Inside, the car is supplied with “Spinneybeck hand-tipped leather interior accents” among other special touches.
Ford is planning to bring a large batch of vehicles to the SEMA Show, being held in Las Vegas next week. Amongst the offerings will be eight different Ford Mustangs, each tuned by a different firm, and five variants of the Ford F-150 pick-up truck.
The American automaker is pushing the idea that the Mustang, now 45 years old, “is the most customized car in the $31.8 billion aftermarket industry.” The eight Mustangs are meant to prove this point, with 3d Carbon’s version leading the way. Using their Boy Racer design that was first seen in 2005, 3dCarbon’s custom aero kit will likely be a hit at the show.
Tuner Galpin Auto Sports will be showing off their version of the Ford Racing-tuned, supercharged, 550 hp wide-body Mustang convertible. Nearby, Steeda Autosports will display the Steeda Q350, a “super responsive” version of the sports car meant for the track. Other tuners participating include Ford Vehicle Personalization, H&R Special Springs, Paul’s High Performance, Street Scene Equipment, and Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Amongst the cars are the Ford F150 tune-jobs. Ford claims that F150 models are “the most customized trucks in the $31.8 billion aftermarket industry.” Ford Vehicle Personalization will bring out the F-150 Project FX2 Sport 6.2-liter with a dark grille, new front lighting, and a new set of wheels. Painted in Red Candy with gold graphics, the car also comes with a dual-tip rear exhaust. Also, K-Daddyz Kustomz will be in Vegas, with a truck showing off 24-inch wheels, and a “air bag suspension.” It comes with a supercharged, 5.4-liter engine, and meant to offer “urban luxury.”
Other F-150 tuners include Malibu Customz, Superlift, and DeWalt, who will be showing off a 2011 Super Duty concept.
You can read about each model in the two included press releases below. All vehicles will be on display from November 3 to 6 in Las Vegas.
Tuner Alpina has introduced a new, long-wheelbase version of the BMW B7 Bi-Turbo at the Tokyo Motor Show. Next to the Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo LWB you’ll be able to see the D3 Bi-Turbo at the company’s stand in Tokyo.
The B7 Bi-Turbo features a 507 bhp 4.4-litre V8 engine that produces up to 700 Nm of torque. However, the long wheelbase version is expected not to hit the 4.7-second 0-100 km/h mark set by the standard unit. In helping the engine to generate even more power there are two large turbocharges connected to a tuned intercooler. Power is reigned in with a ZF six-speed automatic transmission.
The company also announced that their 3,000th unit ever produced is en route to Tokyo, set for delivery exactly thirty years after their first delivery in Japan. To date, over 300 Alpina-made 7-series cars have been sent to Tokyo.
Lorinser has created a package for Mercedes-Benz ML customers, to accentuate the sportiness of the M-class luxury SUV through the use of an aggressive body kit that extends from front to back.
Starting on the front end a new massive Lorinser four-fin grille was fitted. Then there are Lorinser-branded side skirts and wide wheel arches. Wheels pictured here are by no means the standard; customers will be given an extensive menu of light alloys to choose from in either black or silver.
The rear features an integrated spoiler with four tailpipes. Lorinser says a “startling whistle” is heard when the driver steps on the accelerator, regardless of whether it’s a petrol or a diesel.
Lorinser has not made any performance figures available but a 2008 Lorinser package for the ML 320 CDI upped power to 192kW (261hp) and torque went up to 580Nm.
Tuner Roush has introduced a new stallion lineup in the form of the Stage 3 and the 540RH Mustang. The 2010 Roush Mustang Stage 3 gets a 540-horsepower upgrade complete with a second-generation R2300 supercharger, high-flow fuel rails and injectors, upgraded fuel pump and a beefier clutch.
Interior enhancements include ROUSH® leather seats with an embroidered Jack Roush signature, four-piece performance pedals and ROUSH® illuminated sill plates.
For the suggested retail price of $59,945 you also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, 14-inch brakes, a Roush suspension system, various interior enhancements and a Roush body kit complete with a billet grille.
Then there is also the 540 RH Mustang, a car for those who are only interested in the performance of this tuner car. Roush explains:“It will be purposely built with minimal content as it was designed for the buyer who wanted the ROUSH horsepower but with a blank canvas that can be customized into their own personal one-of-a-kind ride.” Along with the powerplant and suspension upgrades, this budget Roush only includes the rear spoiler, a short-throw shifter, and a subtle stripe package. Roush says they have already tested the car at the drag strip and came away with an 11.8-second elapsed time at 121 mph . At $46,145, the 540RH fits in nicely under the Shelby GT500’s retail price while offering similar performance.
Ford has unveiled a unique online customization website for the 2010 Mustang.
The site, http://www.fordvehicles.com/the2010mustang/?id=/customizer, allows you to create a personalized Mustang with a variety of Roush and Ford aftermarket products. You can choose from a variety of hoods, louvers, scoops, spoilers, grilles, wheels, stripes, and pretty much everything else you can put on the exterior of a Mustang.
When you’re finished creating your ultimate Mustang, you can download a vehicle summary which details the parts used and where to get them. Perhaps the most interesting feature is the ability to save your Mustang in the “Customizer Gallery”, where other users can see your car and rate it’s design.

New details have been released for both the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and S65 AMG facelifts. With a starting price of €115,700 before tax, the S63 AMG short-wheelbase brings a 525 horsepower, 6.3-liter V8 engine producing up to 630 Nm of torque. A long wheelbase model is available for an additional €6,000.
At €185,900 the S65 AMG is hardly cheap, but the 612 horsepower delivered by the 6.0-liter biturbo V12 may be enough to convince new customers. The V12 delivers a massive 1000 Nm of torque, guaranteeing a 0-100 km/h time of 4.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the S63. Both cars are electronically limited to 250 km/h. On the S63 the driver controls the AMGSPEEDSHIFT 7G-Tronic transmission, while the S65 utilizes a five-speed automatic.
Impressively, Mercedes did not have to degrade the performance of these two vehicles to improve fuel economy. Both “consumption and CO2 emissions” were reduced “by up to 3 percent.”
From the looks of these two cars, it seems many of the 8,000 current S-Class AMG customers may get a little jealous. A new arrow-shaped radiator grille - with twin chrome louvres on the S65 - is an effective status symbol on a car that commands respect. AMG-spec LED daytime lights are mounted just above the air outlets on either side of the front apron.
You can read more details, including information about the Split-View COMAND system, in the press release below. The 2010 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG and the 2010 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG go on sale at the end of the month.
