German tuner Mansory is now offering a tuning program for the Porsche 911.
The program mainly focuses on improvements concerning the aerodynamics, engine performance and handling of this sports car icon, but as with any Mansory product the cars can be designed to meet a customer’s every whim.
When developing the 911 program, Mansory engineers attached great importance to an individual design but also aerodynamic efficiency. The core part of the bodykit is a lift-reducing front bumper. In connection with the hood, this bumper offers various design possibilities. A matching rear bumper is also available, and accommodates a new quad-pipe exhaust system.
Porsche will be introducing a new sports exhaust for use on the 911 Carrera and the Targa 4 models. The new system will be available as an option on new vehicle purchases beginning in February.
The new exhaust is stainless-steel, with a unique quad-pipe outlet at the back. Exhaust flaps on the back are fully adjustable, the sport exhaust lets the 911 customer tweak everything, including the car’s sound. Working by push button, the throaty sounding exhaust can be manipulated by the driver at any time. Located within the center console, the button is conveniently placed for the driver. - Read the Press Release after the break -
Here’s a nice comparison test between the new 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera and the 2009 BMW M3.
Every new 911 is a solid dose of Porsche tradition. You want to connect with the past? Plug yourself into one of these rear-engine babies. Tire noise, a stiff ride, tightly wound steering; the 911 is for folks who still want to touch the road, get their hands dirty, and work up a farmer’s sweat.
After the recent facelifts of 911 models, Porsche has turned its attention to the high-performance GT3 RS version. It was caught testing in the French mountains, and it’s believed the new models will be available in the showrooms next year.
The supercar will keep the same 415 bhp powerhouse as the current model, which allows it to accelerate from 0-60mph in around four seconds.
AutoExpress says the new model will keep the special coloured wheels, decorative stripe, contrast-painted outside mirrors, rear wing endplates, and roll cage.
