Porsche tuner TopCar has released the first images of their tuning package for the 2012 Porsche 911 (991).
The model has a carbon/Kevlar body kit with an aggressive front-end, aerodynamic side skirts and a sporty rear bumper with an integrated diffuser. There’s also LED daytime driving lights and light alloy wheels.
For added performance, the company will partner with 9ff to develop a sport-tuned suspension and a larger displacement engine.
Even though the production model will debut in March 2012, TopCar is already accepting orders.
If you didn’t want to uglify the dashboard in your classic Porsche with one of those modern satellite navigations, then Porsche has the perfect solution for you now: a sat nav which fits into the radio slot. How sweet is that?!
Starting in October 2010, owners will be able to retrofit their cars with the Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System (Part # 911 645 910 00), which packages a display screen fitted into a form factor that is an exact fit for the original factory radio’s location. Round knobs keep appearances in line with that classic Porsche aesthetic, but the technology is purely 21st century.
The unit will retail for €595,00 plus VAT (around $776 USD before taxes at current exchange rates).
Recent reports revealed that Gemballa has scheduled a Monday press conference where they will announce plans to relaunch the company.
At this point in time the details are limited, but the German tuner will be headed by new CEO Andreas Schwarz who has acquired the rights to the Gemballa name. Financing will be provided by Steffen Korbach and possibly several dealers.
In Prestige Cars magazine, Schwarz has stated that “The design guidelines should continue on the basis of previous works and we are already working on concepts for the Porsche Panamera, the new Cayenne and the Ferrari Enzo. The know-how in terms of finance provided by Korbach as (the) investor should also enable the company to access the capital market more easily in the future.” He also revealed that the first new products will be introduced at Top Marques Abu Dhabi in January 2011.
A new film showing the life and crimes of Serbian Vlada Vasiljevic premiered earlier this week in Amsterdam. Titled The Belgrade Phantom, for Vasiljevic’s nickname, the story follows the man after he stole a white Porsche 911, and used it to torment the police over a ten day period during Serbia’s communist era.
First-time feature director Jovan Todorovic used a combination of archive footage, radio interviews, and original dramatized material to create the story. Several car chases were shot throughout the Serbian capital of Belgrade to recreate the Phantom using his stolen 1979 Porsche 911 Targa to easily outrun the 60hp Zastava police cars.
The Belgrade Phantom is currently being shown at the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam.

The tuners at 9ff are known for some awesome Porsche modifications and this Cayenne Vantage GTR is no exception. It’s based on the Cayenne SUV and, of course, has nothing to do with the Aston Martin, which bears the same name. With a unseen 725 bhp this SUV becomes a serious tower of power, and the Vantage GTR leaves all other modified Cayennes far behind very easily.
Next to the amazing performance, 9ff has made some alterations to the bodywork and given the car a matte black finish. The pictures in the gallery show that the tuner also offers a revised front end with round 911 units headlamps instead of the stock model’s.
Porsche has decided to do a full blown marketing roll out to show the production Panamera bit by bit. This can be followed on the Panamera Online Magazine. The first few pictures, unfortunately, only reveal the front end of the new four-door sports coupe. Porsche has scheduled the Panamera’s official debut for next spring.
Panamera Gran Turismo Makes its First AppearanceStuttgart . Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, is rolling the new Panamera Gran Turismo into the public limelight for the first time. Starting on 15 September, the Panamera Online Magazine is offering a wide range of information all about the latest member of the Porsche family at www.porsche.com/panamera – including videos of disguised prototypes on test drives. This is accompanied at the same time by an elaborate mailing campaign directly addressing potential customers.
The next highlight starting on 20 October is an advertising campaign with double-page ads in leading news and business magazines, again offering a sneak preview of Porsche’s latest model. Indeed, even this limited view of the dynamic front end clearly proves that the four-door Panamera is a genuine Porsche all the way, the Panamera naturally benefiting from Porsche’s 60 years of sports car know-how in Zuffenhausen and the driving dynamics so typical of the brand. Precisely this know-how and driving dynamics are combined in the Panamera with superior driving comfort and the Panamera’s very special space concept for four adults, making the new Panamera the ideal family-friendly Gran Turismo without the slightest compromise.
