German tuner Heico Sportiv has announced a tuning program for the Volvo S60.
The package includes both styling and performance changes. As for styling, Heico offers a front spoiler, a revised rear skirt, and two sport exhaust systems (dual or four-tailpipe). Other cool things include 18- to 20-inch VOLUTION wheels, aluminum pedals, and an aluminum gear shift knob.
To improve the performance Heico introduces revised ECUs for the 2.0T and T6 engines. Thanks to the improved software, the 2.0T produces 293 bhp - an increase of 46 bhp. The T6 powerhouse generates an impressive 326 bhp. It allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
Price tags have not been unveiled yet, but these accessories will be available on 18 September 2010.

This new Volvo V60 has been launched as the sporty five-door version of the all-new S60. The car is being offered with eight different engines in an attempt to lure at least 50,000 new customers annually.
The V60 is available with four inline-four petrol engines, including two 1.6-liter units and two 2.0-liter models. Its range-leading inline-six is a 3.0-liter unit that produces 304 hp. This serious powerhouse gets the car from 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, and is limited to a top speed of 250 km/h.
The V60 can also be chosen with a diesel engine, in which Volvo offers 3 choices. The offerings include a 115-hp 1.6-liter inline-four, and two inline-five workhorses.
“Many of the customers who had an advance look at the new V60 during the development process feel that its attitude is at least as sporty as that of the all-new S60,” said Volvo Design Director Peter Horbury.
To add a sportier look to the car, it has been given a coupe-inspired roof, sculpted styling at the front, and a bulging “shoulder” to keep with Volvo’s design language.
Collision avoidance, pedestrian detection, all-wheel drive, tight steering, stability control, traction control in the corners, and an advanced brake system are all included for the driver’s benefit. The price tag of the new Volvo V60 is to be announced soon.
As a preview for the tyling of the 2010 production model, Volvo revealed the Volvo S60 Concept at the Detroit Auto Show today.
Designers call the exterior design dynamic and full of character, and state that their inspiration came from Scandinavian design and the Swedish coastline. These influences are the reason behind the double-wave design that runs along the profile of the car.
Like any other Volvo, safety plays an important role in the design and functioning of the car. Volvo engineers have equipped the S60 Concept with several new systems such as Collision Warning with Full Auto Brake and pedestrian detection, a heads-up display warning system and an updated version of Adaptive Cruise Control.
Volvo will show this S60 Concept at the Auto Show in Detroit in January 2009. This is a show model of the car that will replace the current S60 in 2010. The concept car has officially been revealed by Volvo, ahead of Detroit, with this video.
Stephen Odell, President & CEO of Volvo cars, said, “The sporty design gives visual promise of an enthusiastic drive and I can assure you … that the all-new S60 will live up to that promise. The driving properties are better than in any previous Volvo. The car’s technology will help you to be a better and safer driver.”
Volvo Cars design director Steve Mattin continues to say that “In forthcoming models, you will see more and more of our ‘racetrack’ design cues. The car’s lines do not end abruptly but instead forge a continuous flowing pattern inspired by the fast sweeps of the racing track. In the concept car, this is particularly visible at the rear.”
Volvo has announced that it will give us our first taste of the next generation S60 saloon at the Detroit International Motor Show in January 2009 with the unveiling of the S60 Concept car. Although No exterior photos were revealed, the Swedish automaker did release a 3D impression of the concept car’s cabin. This will features a 1.6 meter (5.2 feet) long floating crystal center stack, which has been developed in cooperation with world-famous Swedish glassworks Orrefors.
While no other details were released, our sources say Volvo’s next generation mid-size sedan will be loosely based on the underpinnings of the new Ford Mondeo with the production version slated to hit showrooms in 2010.
